Funeral Mass for Kenneth Lallier was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Flag presentation was by the V.F.W. Post No. 2541 of Algona. 
Kenneth William Lallier was born March 2, 1932, at St. Benedict, the son of John and Mary (Kunkel) Lallier. He attended school at St. Benedict and worked for numerous farmers until he entered the Army in February of 1953. He served in the Korean Conflict until February of 1955 as an instructor on the 105 Howitzer. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to the area.
On April 20, 1955, Kenneth married the love of his life, Delores Kohlhaas, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.
He attended Electronic Technical School for one year in Kansas City. The family moved to Humboldt where he worked as a technician for C&G TV from 1957-1966. He later managed the Gambles Store in Estherville before returning to Algona where he was employed by Electronic Specialties until present time.
Ken was an active member of St. Cecelia Parish serving as an usher, Eucharistic minister and attending adoration chapel. One of his passions was becoming a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. It made him proud that his sons, son-in-law and grandsons became KC members. He was also an active member of the VFW Post No. 2541.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling roller skating, dancing, playing cards, watching Western movies, baseball and other sports. Ken always looked forward to the KC golf tournament with his sons and grandsons bringing home many state titles. Family and friends could always count on Ken to repair or fix anything.
One of his fondest memories was going on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and the little ones always put a smile on his face.
Ken died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. He was just short of his 85th birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Delores of Algona; children, Sharon Waller of Algona; Tim (Vicki) Lallier of Ankeny; Carla (Ed) Schmidt of Whittemore; Dean (Sue) Lallier of Algona; Mike (Ruthann) Lallier of Algona; 16 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; sister, Luella (Dick) Potratz; brothers, Richard (Peg) Lallier; Marvin (Caryle) Lallier and sisters-in-law, Anita Lallier and Ethel Kohlhaas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Charles, in infancy and Arnie Lallier and sisters, Dolores and Noreen.
