ALGONA — A memorial service for Kay “Tots” Voigt, will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona with the Rev. Edward M. Girres of St. Cecelia Catholic Church officiating. Her family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
According to Kay’s wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomical Department for scientific purposes.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at East Lawn Cemetery in Algona.
Kathryn Mae “Tots” Voigt was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Algona, daughter of Elmer J. and Theresa (Zittritsch) Kelley. Kay was married to Harold “Whitey” Voigt in 1952. She worked in the office at J.C. Penney in Algona and retired from working in the office of Good Samaritan Care Center.
Kay enjoyed golfing, bowling and gardening. In her younger years she also enjoyed playing softball. She was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona.
Kay “Tots” Voigt died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Kossuth Regional Health Care Center at the age of 98.
She is survived by one brother, Jim Kelley of Algona; two nieces, Debbie (Tim) Heberling of Davenport, and Jeanne (Jim) Ingalls of Bancroft, and one nephew, Gary (Linda) Kelley of Cedar Falls; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold on August 30, 1999; and two brothers, Russ and Gene Kelley.
