A funeral mass will be held for Joy Hanig at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March, 4, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wesley. Rosary will be at 4:45 p.m., with visitation following from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Wesley.
Joy Mae (Curran) Hanig was born May 21, 1936, in LuVerne, daughter of Harold and Florence (Robinson) Curran. She grew up in LuVerne until the third-grade and then moved to Corwith where she graduated High School. 
On Oct. 18, 1955, Joy married Donald Hanig at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. The two of them were blessed with two daughters, Jean and Joyce. Joy was a wonderful mother and housewife. 
Joy enjoyed playing sports in her younger years, enjoyed listening to music, watching golf and playing cards. Joy was also an active member of Catholic Daughters of America and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Dean) Salz of Algona, Joyce (Derwin) Dornbier of Wesley; grandson, Collin Strimpfel of Wesley; step-grandchildren, Sydney Dornbier of Cedar Rapids and Ryley Dornbier of Wesley; sister, Kay Gordon of Britt; sister-in-law, Kaye Curran of Emmetsburg and many nieces and nephews. 
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Donald; brothers, Carroll Curran and Keith Curran.
