ALGONA— Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig visited Bode Moonlight Gardens on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Bode Moonlight Gardens is owned and operated by Beanie and Joanne Roepke Bode. They grow a variety of vegetables as well as a 14-acre pumpkin patch.
Joanne Roepke Bode met Naig at a banquet for the Iowa Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and invited him to come tour the Bode farm. They were joined by Joanne’s father Richard Roepke of Ames, her daughter Violet and some FFA students from Bishop Garrigan High School.
