Ginny was born on April 16, 1948 in Algona, IA to Margaret (Wildin) and Ronald Fraser. She graduated from Cylinder High School in 1966 and married Raymond Friedrich on August 20, 1967.  Ginny is survived by her husband Ray, her children and grandchildren: Chris (Amy) Friedrich; Alison and Meghan; Rod (Christina) Friedrich; Kaitlyn and Lincoln; Tanya (Jason) Teeter; Quentin, Ronan and Silas; Stephanie Moeller; Laura (Matt) Becker; Chase and Miles; and Corey Friedrich, siblings: Rose (Rod) Culbertson, Russ (Mindy) Fraser, Rita (Gary) Whetzal, Joanne Fraser, Steve Fraser and Don Fraser. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.
While raising a family, Ginny completed her accounting degree from Buena Vista University and earned her CPA. She was employed by the Iowa Department of Human Services for over 30 years.  Most recently, Ginny enjoyed doing seasonal tax work for H&R Block.
Ginny loved her family, her garden and her community. She was a great socializer, traveler and of course, quilter. As a quilter, Ginny was fast yet meticulous and a patient, tireless teacher. Many households have been blessed with Ginny’s quilting gifts. It was always her hope that her work gave comfort and warmth to those who needed it.
In her final weeks, Ginny was lucky to receive care and comfort from numerous hospital and hospice caregivers, in particular Serena Reemtsma and Dr. Lampe.  Because of this care, Ginny’s family requests that any memorial donation be made to Hospice of the Heartland.
One of the last handwritten notes we found from Ginny read, I may not be perfect, but when I look at my children I know that I got something in my life perfectly right! Thank you for getting it right, Ginny. We will miss you.
