DeAnn Michelle (Fritz) Opheim, 48, was born March 14, 1969 in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Dennis and Diane (Walker) Fritz and came home to her two year old sister, Debbie.

Mary Ann Williams, 68, passed away on March 30, 2017 in Minneapolis, Minn.
A memorial service was held for Mary Ann on Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. in Fridley, Minn.
Mary Ann was born on Jan. 8, 1949, in Algona, to Paul and Theresa (Shipler) Ostwinkle.

Funeral Mass for Jerry Bormann was celebrated on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore with Father Edward Girres officiating. Burial was in the St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the Seely-Walsh American Legion Post #425 of Whittemore.

Ruth A Newel, 94, peacefully slipped into the arms of her Lord surrounded by family on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, in West Des Moines. Ruth suffered a series of strokes, which lead to a rapid decline in her health in the past year.

ALGONA — Ellis Perry Mains joined his Lord and Savior on May 13, 2017, at the age of 94. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at Grace Church, Algona. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Haag-Turner American Legion Post No. 90 and the VFW Post No. 2541.

Phyllis Georgiann (Swyter) Baade, daughter of George and Tena (Meyer) Swyter was born Jan. 5, 1936, in rural Titonka.  She attended school at German Township #4 and Titonka Consolidated School graduating in 1954. She also took a Clerical Course at the Mankato Commercial College, Mankato, Minn.

Jim Fuller, 67, of Algona, passed away on May 12, 2017, at his home.  Funeral services were held Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Algona, with Rev. Steve Goshson officiating.
James E. Fuller, the son of Marshall and Charming (Thomas) Fuller, was born on Nov. 14, 1949, just south of Marshalltown.  He graduated from SEMCO High School in 1967 and attended Marshalltown Community College for two years.

Marie Recker, 90, of Algona, passed away on May 14, 2017, at Windsor Manor in Algona. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with Rev. Peter Nguyen celebrating. Burial will be in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona, with a 7 p.m., Rosary.
