November 30, 1933 - November 23, 2023

Marlys Joan Bruns, 89, of Titonka died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at the Titonka Care Center following a brief illness. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in rural Titonka. Burial was held in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation began at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and continued until the time of service at the church.

March 12, 1952 - November 25, 2023

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Burial will be held in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Whittemore. Visitation was held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. 

July 17, 1935 - November 17 2023

A Funeral Mass for Merlin Studer, 88, of Wesley was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. Visitation was 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wesley. Military rites were conducted by Andrew Post #428.

September 30, 1938 - November 15, 2023

Wayne William Schultz, aged 85, departed unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 15, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane and their two adored daughters, Julie (Michael) Erickson and Kimberly (Darin) Haack. Wayne’s grandchildren, Elizabeth and Devin Erickson, and Emily and Genevieve Haack, will forever cherish the warmth and kindness of their grandfather.

A memorial service for Allen will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. His family will begin greeting friends at 4 p.m. on Friday at Oakcrest.

January 1, 1930 - November 19, 2023

Evelyn Mawdsley, age 93, of Burt, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023. A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at 11 a.m., at the Burt Presbyterian Church with Pastor Walter Reemtsma and Pastor Kent Madison officiating. Burial will be in Portland Township Cemetery in rural Burt. Her family will greet friends from 9:30 until service time at the church.

July 15, 1947 - November 13, 2023

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. Burial was held in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Russell Lee Spear was born on July 15, 1947, in Algona to James and Mildred (Stroebel) Spear. He grew up in Algona and graduated from Algona High School in 1966.

A funeral Mass for Norma was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore. Burial took place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery following Mass. Visitation was 4-6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20, at Oakcrest Funeral Services chapel in Whittemore. Visitation continued one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at St. Michael’s Church Hall.

Mark Fandel, 64, of Clear Lake passed away at Mercy Hospital on Oct. 9, 2023. Services will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in  Whittemore at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2.

Dolores Elaine (Christian) Fox, age 91 of Titonka, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at the Titonka Care Center surrounded by her five children.

Dolores was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Mason City, daughter of Melvin and Olga (Handeland) Christian. She was baptized on Nov. 6, 1932, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. Dolores was confirmed on July 27, 1947, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of rural Gruver.

November 21, 1953 - November 9, 2023

Ronald John Eischen, 69 of New Sharon and formerly of Moulton passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at his home.

Ron was born to Maurice “Mo” and Elsie (Wood) Eischen on Nov. 21, 1953, in Algona.  Ron graduated from Algona Garrigan Catholic High School in 1972. 

Ron worked at and owned the Moulton Locker for over 40 years.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our amazing and loving mother, Royalee “Lee” Wermers. She left this earth on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. She was 75 years old. Both Josh and I were blessed to be by her side, while holding her hands as she took her last breath.
