August 22, 1950 - February 25, 2024
John A. Vigdal, 73, passed away unexpectedly early morning on Sunday, Feb. 25 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, with family by his side.
A celebration of life will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 at the Rolfe Golf Course in Rolfe. Sons of the Legion Honor Guard at 4 p.m. Cards and wishes may be sent to 813 Broad St. Rolfe, IA 50581.
John was born Aug. 22, 1950, to Lorenz and Lois (Hansen) Vigdal in Whittemore. He went to school at St. Michael’s in Whittemore and graduated from Bishop Garrigan in Algona.
He worked various jobs but the most important one was 30 years at Midwest Limestone/Calcium Products in Gilmore City. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion, Whittemore.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Steve Vigdal, Julie (Mike) Krien, Tom (Amanda) Vigdal, Jonathan Vigdal and Joshua Vigdal. Grandchildren Karsen and Kaleb Krein; Jackson and Charlotte Vigdal; Kinlee and Cordell Vigdal. Brothers Carl (Pam) Vigdal and Roger (Carmen) Vigdal, sisters Mary (Tom) Matgen; Ann (Randy) Vogt, and many nieces and nephews.
John enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends and family through the years, especially his nephew JR Vigdal. He will be dearly missed.
