The Algona 7th/8th Grade Band was selected as one of only two middle school bands in the state of Iowa to perform at the Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA) Conference held at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown on May 15-17. The band submitted an audition recording in January and was selected through a blind audition process by a committee of band directors from around the state.
