If we are to re-open

Rural Iowans have done a tremendous job of social distancing and reacting to the requests of the state and federal governments when it comes to the COVID-19 coronavirus – or we’ve just been lucky.
Either way, the last few weeks, we have seen businesses that were technically shut down slowly re-open. Consumer reaction is mixed. Just more than half the people who answered a recent unscientific poll on our website said it’s too soon to open. About a quarter think Gov. Kim Reynolds is managing it the right way by slowly reopening in areas without much indicated virus activity. The other quarter thinks closing up shop was wrong.
