Hayes “Elgin” Allen of Algona passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2017, at age 91, surrounded by his loving family.
His quick smile, calming presence and warm guidance will be missed by all. Visitation was held at Oakcrest Funeral Services on Friday, Jan. 13, from 4-7 p.m. and services were held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Elgin’s family was his pride and joy and he is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Gertrude (Zahn) Allen, his children, Jeff and Mikki Allen of Omaha, Greg and Susan Allen of Lincoln, Doug and Chris Allen of Alexandria, Virginia, Barbara and Lee Elms of San Antonio, Texas and Mike and Catherine Allen of Overland Park, Kansas along with 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
