Newell-Fonda erupted for 27 points in the final eight minutes to rally for a 69-50 Twin Lakes Conference boys’ basketball victory over the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines in a league contest played at West Bend on Friday, Jan. 12.
The Mustangs scored the first four points of the game before Cole Hoskins tossed in five straight points to give the home team a 5-4 lead. The visitors answered with a three-pointer but the purple-and-gold scored seven of the next nine points to hold a 12-9 advantage at the end of the first stanza.
