ALGONA – Ed Elbert was by his wife’s side each and every day that Connie battled breast cancer.
“My husband took me to every test, surgery and treatment,” she said. “People volunteered but he wanted to do this himself. This meant a lot to me.”
Elbert said her husband, family and friends were her support after being diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2015. “Family and friends were so good with cards, calls, food, flowers and visits,” she said. “We really do live in a wonderful community. My husband’s boss was so good about him taking time off work although Ed tried to make up the hours.”
