LEDYARD — A funeral service for Dorothy Pedersen was held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, Minn., with the Rev. Joel Lintener officiating.  Burial was in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard.
Dorothy Laurnetta Pedersen was born Aug. 5, 1937, on a farm near Algona, daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Bierstedt) Gade. She attended Cresco Township No. 4 graduating from Algona High School in 1955. She then worked in the office of McMahan and Cassel Law Firm. Dorothy married Gerald Pedersen on Oct. 27, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona.  
Dorothy kept records for three different entities including Bibles Abroad. She was a great business partner with Gerald on the farm, keeping the books and she was able to operate every piece of machinery. Dorothy loved being outside going for walks, mowing her lawn and taking care of her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling with Gerald going on many fishing trips and visiting many places all over the world. There would be many summer days you would find her sitting in a fishing boat.
Dorothy loved her family and time spent with them was the best gift she ever gave. She enjoyed playing games with her family and she attended every ball game and event she could. 
Dorothy L. Pedersen died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Hawkeye Care Center at the age of 79. Dorothy was deeply loved by all.  
She is survived by her husband, Gerald of Ledyard; three children, Patricia Larson and her husband, Jim of Armstrong, Mark Pedersen and his wife, Shelly of Ledyard, and Pamela Larson and her husband, Dallas of Huxley; 13 grandchildren, Cody (Bethany) Larson, Heather (Adam) VanWyk, Amanda (Nate) Howard, Nicholas Larson, Jacob (Jordan) Larson, Gretchen Larson, Rachel Larson, Adam (Renee) Pedersen, Brett Pedersen, Blake (Beth) Pedersen, Trent Pedersen, Courtney (Tyler) Lowy and Ross Larson; and eight great-grandchildren, Makayla, Tait and Tyler Larson, Grace, Olivia and Ezra VanWyk, Blake Larson, and Cooper Pedersen.  She is also survived by three sisters, Helen (Duane) Lieb of Algona, Lucille (Al) Bonde of Algona and Eunice (Rev. Ralph) Wiechmann of Leesburg, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
