ALGONA — Mary Foth teaches sixth grade STEM Science and STEM Math at Bishop Garrigan. For Foth, STEM teaches students how to think.
It teaches students “critical thinking, problem solving, getting along with others and technology. In problem solving, if kids just want an answer, it’s not going to be there. That’s STEM’s real strength,” Foth said. “If they make a mistake, good. What did they learn from it?” she asked.
