Bulldogs fall in overtime to Clear Lake

Lead Summary

Zach Lester hit a fade-away three-pointer over the out-stretched arms of Riley Helmers at the buzzer in the first overtime to give the Clear Lake Lions a 75-74 win over the Algona Bulldogs.
Lester had 28 points in the game but that was only the third best scoring total of the evening as teammate Thomas Strobeck poured in 32 points and Jackson Helmers tossed in 31 tallies for the Bulldogs.
The North Central Conference boys’ basketball opener for both squads took place on Friday, Dec. 9 at Clear Lake.  The Bulldogs fell to 1-3 overall on the year and the Lions are now 3-1 on the season.
