BREAKING NEWS: Second abduction attempt reported

ALGONA – An eighth-grader reportedly escaped from a man who had grabbed him today.
According to Algona Police Chief Kendall Pals, this is a possible connection to last week’s incident when four Bryant Elementary School students were offered $100 to climb into the car.
Pals said on Thursday morning there is no indication that the most recent incident is a false report,” he said. “Being through a traumatic event, it is hard to analyze what he is telling us. We’re treating it seriously.”
According to the report, the eighth-grader was offered $200 to get into the vehicle around 7 a.m. The man was wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants of some sorts. He was driving a silver mini-van with a black stripe on the lower side of the vehicle.
