Any day, a hero...

Next week is National Fire Prevention Week. Itís a time set aside for Americans to consider fire safety at home, at work and at school. Without a doubt, this attention on eradicating potential hazards is important. It is also important to recognize the people who serve our communities as firefighters. Many of these people receive nominal compensation for their work; in fact, many of them help pay for their own training and equipment. They face dangerous situations on each call, and they answer the call no matter the conditions.Todayís Advance carries four pages of photos and salutory advertisements expressing thanks for these efforts. Be sure you extend your thanks to these people who, any day, could be your hero.
