Algona gallops past Cowboys

Algona pounded out 13 hits and cruised to an 11-1, six-inning North Central Conference baseball victory over the Clarion-Goldfield Cowboys.
The red-and-black improved to 8-12 overall with the win but more importantly are now 5-2 in conference play, currently sitting in second place in the league.
The Bulldogs plated four runs in the bottom of the second inning, added one in the third, tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth frame and ended the contest early with four tallies in the bottom of the sixth inning as the visitors scored their only run in the top of the fourth inning.
Both Collin Sexton and Grant Goche had a single and a double and Noah Carlson added a pair of singles.  Bryce Bradley and Nick Stein each ripped a double along with singles from Matt Grein, Spencer Holmes, Nick Goche, Carson Devine and Bryce Witham.
