Don and Janet Heupel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Ag and Sports Museum, 800 E. Fair St., Algona. The celebration runs from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Don Heupel and Janet Steckler were married Oct. 19, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fargo, N.D. They have two children, David (Kristen) Heupel, Jefferson, and Julie (Paul) Halloff, Chaska, Minn., and five grandchildren. Well wishes will reach the couple at 1311 210th St., Algona.
Don is the former president of Universal Manufacturing, and Janet was a secretary at Bishop Garrigan High School. They are members of St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church. Don belongs to Kiwanis and the VFW. Janet is involved in the Kossuth County Concert Association.
