Butch and Virginia Hefty were married on July 1, 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Livermore by Reverend William Stock. The couple has lived and farmed on the Hefty Family Farm in Lu Verne their whole lives. Virginia retired from the CWL Community School as their computer technologist. She has also been as active member of LWML, Sunday School, Bible School and Board of Education at Zion Lutheran Church. She is also an active board member of the Lu Verne Library. Butch has been as active church council member at Zion Lutheran Church.
An open house is being held in their honor on Saturday, July 1, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lu Verne. Their family, including Doug (Lora) Hefty of Traer, Sherry (John) Ricke of Fonda, along with their five grandchildren, are encouraging family and friends to shower them with cards.
