Algona battled North Central Conference leader Iowa Falls-Alden tough but too many service runs by the 14th-ranked Cadets proved to be too much as the visitors topped the red-and-black in three hard-fought sets in a match played at Algona on Thursday, Sept. 28.
Iowa Falls-Alden used two early runs of four and five points to take a quick 11-6 lead in the opening game. Three service points by Aliyah Buscher sliced the advantage to 11-9 but the visitors hit two more runs of three and four points to build a 20-11 lead.
