Stundahl earns top five placing
ALGONA—Algona’s Ryan Stundahl continued his successful freshman campaign with a fifth place overall finish to highlight the performances of the four area boys’ cross-country teams at the Algona Invitational.
The meet was held on Monday, Sept. 30, at the River Road Golf Course. The Bulldog boys ended up in 11th place in the final team standings with a score of 275 points as Bishop Garrigan finished in 15th place with a team total of 400 and both North Union and West Bend-Mallard did not have enough runners to establish a team score.
The top 40 individuals earned medals and the area had three runners among those place winners. Stundahl led the way in fifth place with his clocking of 18:01.69 with Bishop Garigan’s Joseph Meis taking 22nd in 18:53.45 and Nick Schiltz of North Union placed 35th with a time of 19:12.08.
