A combination of 12 penalties, two lost fumbles and a pair of interceptions were too much for the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines to overcome in a 34-30, eight-man football, season-opening loss to the North Iowa Bison on Friday, Aug. 23.
The Bison scooped up a Wolverine fumble on the first play of the game and scored a touchdown going the other way. They scored three times in the final 3:28 of the first half to take a commanding 34-12 advantage to the locker room at intermission in the week zero victory.
