Bulldog girls take fifth place in AHS Invite
ALGONA—The Algona Bulldog girls cross-country squad had a nice fifth place finish as a team to highlight the performances of the four area schools at the Algona Invitational meet held at the River Road Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 30.
The red-and-black totaled a team score of 144 points to place fifth as Charles City captured the team title with a total of 53 and Spencer was the runner-up with 66 points. Bishop Garrigan, North Union and West Bend-Mallard all did not have enough runners for a team score.
The top 40 individuals earned medals and four area young ladies were among those runners. Algona’s Carley Mullins was the top finisher in sixth place overall with a time of 21:53.59.
