BGHS boys bounce back
Rebounding from a lop-sided loss at Garner at Tuesday, the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bear boys’ basketball squad used some hot shooting in both the first and third quarters in an 83-40 Top of Iowa Conference win over the North Union Warriors.
The black-and-gold connected on 10-of-13 overall field goals in the first period to build a 16-point lead and extended its advantage to 35 points at the end of the third frame by making 8-of-11 shots in that stanza in the league contest played in Algona on Friday, Jan. 26.
The Golden Bears started fast by scoring the first nine points of the contest before a three-pointer by Hunter Pierce got the visitors on the scoreboard with 4:50 remaining in the first quarter.
