A memorial service was held for LaVonne M. Lauck Monday, April 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Fairville in rural Cylinder with the Rev. Duane Miesner officiating. Inurnment was in the church cemetery.

Jean L. (Gabel) LeWarne, 95, Mason City, died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at her home. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., Mason City, with full military honors. Visitation was 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City. Interment took place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Memorials may be made out to the First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Edna Isebrands are at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the United Methodist Church in Titonka with the Rev. Todd Hartsock officiating. Burial is in the Buffalo Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

August "Augie" Homer Schmidt was born Aug. 27, 1926, on a farm near Woden, the son of Paul and Lucy (Willett) Schmidt. He grew up in Woden until seventh grade when his family moved to Lone Rock. He graduated from Lone Rock High School in 1945. After high school, Augie enlisted in the United States Army, and he proudly served his country. Following his service he farmed near Lone Rock until 1948. He then moved to Algona.

Floyd E. Blom, 80, Algona, died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona.

M. June Hentges, 89, Iowa City, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County.
June chose cremation. Graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery in Algona on Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County.

A funeral service for Marian Spear will be held Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. Her family will greet friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Ramona Gronbach died Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Humboldt North Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held later this spring at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Irvington.

Robert L. Reding, Phoenix, Ariz., died Feb. 28, 2019, in Phoenix. There will be no funeral services. Inurnment will be determined at a later date.
Robert was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Whittemore, the son of Nicholas J. and Anna (Wagner) Reding. On Aug. 16, 1948, he married Maurine in Whittemore. Robert worked in construction, sales and transportation.

Viola Mae (Potthoff) Metzger, 86, passed away peacefully at Parc Hall in Emmetsburg surrounded by her family.
