A visitation was held Wednesday, July 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona. The family asked that social distancing practices be followed. Family graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at Calvary Cemetery, Algona.

Dorothy Egel, the daughter of John and Eliza (Swain) Weller, was born Aug. 29, 1925, in borough of Watford in Hertfordshire, England, and departed this life on Monday, July 20, 2020, at her home in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 94.

A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Sts. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church in West Bend for Mary Enid Bormann, 90 of West Bend. Burial followed in West Bend Cemetery. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. July 23 at Harris Funeral Home in West Bend.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, a private family graveside service with military honors will be held with long time friend Pastor Susan Friedrich officiating. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Dorothy Jean Kraft, 93 of Marion and formerly of Lone Rock, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Cedar Rapids.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Eastlawn Cemetery, Algona.
Dorothy was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Evansville, Indiana. She married Clarence Kraft on Jan. 26, 1946, and he passed away in 1998. Dorothy was employed by the Sentral Community School and Exceptional Opportunities until 1999.

Diane Cecilia (Elbert) Hansen was born July 9, 1953 at St. Ann’s Kossuth County Hospital. Daughter of Melvin and Irene (Berger) Elbert. Diane graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1971. After high school, she went to work at Snap-on, where she worked for 39 years. 
On June 21, 1974, Diane was united in marriage to Roger Hansen at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Together they raised their three children in Whittemore.

Joan Kay Thompson, 79 of Bode, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona from lung cancer.

Ronald A. Meyer, son of William and Arena (Ohm) Meyer, was born Sept. 24, 1926, in rural Kossuth County, Iowa. He attended Lotts Creek school through eighth grade. 
At that time, he began his farming career, which lasted until his retirement in 1991. Ron was united in marriage with Betty Lou Reinen on Nov. 28, 1948. He was a member of Peace Lutheran church, serving as Trustee for many years.

Elayne Grapenthin

Elayne Grapenthin, age 94 of Linn Grove, Iowa, died June 25, 2020, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa. She is survived by three children, including Diane (Mike) Kleineweber of Algona. Public graveside services took place Tuesday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
