Funeral service for Janice Long will be held June 24, at 10 a.m. at the Algona Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Al Foote officiating. Burial will follow at the Corwith City Cemetery.

Richard (Dick) Lappin, age 92, of Algona, died on June 21, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 24, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. Inurnment will be held in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 23, at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona.

Richard (Dick) Haag passed away peacefully in his home the morning of June 7, 2021. Per Dick’s wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. 

Sister Loretta Kramer

Services will be held on Saturday June 19, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church for Sister Loretta Kramer. She was the daughter of Raymond and Loretta Kramer. 
She was born in Algona on March 11, 1940, the second child of seven siblings and named Rosemary. She later took the name of Sister Loretta after her mother.

Graveside funeral services for Wayne Cordes were held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Ramsey Reformed Church Cemetery in rural Titonka with Pastor Mark Ellens presiding.

Robert Dell Marlow, age 94, of Algona, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center. He was born on a farm near Lone Rock on Oct. 29, 1926, son of Dell and Lillian Marlow. He grew up on the farm with his five sisters and one brother.

Daniel Dean Trenary was born March 30, 1951, in Algona, the son of Robert and Gladys (Goetz) Trenary. He grew up on a farm near Corwith and graduated from Corwith-Wesley in 1969. After graduating he began farming with his father. 
On Jan. 19, 1973, Dan was united in marriage to Gayle Wermers at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft. Together they raised their family on a farm near Corwith.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault, Minn..

Lorraine A. Rhodes nee Jentz, Berkland passed away on June 6, 2021. She was 26 days shy of her 95th birthday. Lorraine was born in Fenton to Fred and Martha (Kressin) Jentz. She and her sister Valerian and brother Jim grew up on a farm near Fenton.

Greta Elaine Meyer (Fowler), a long-time 58-year resident of Algona, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. Greta was 90 years old at the time of her passing.
Greta was born on March 12, 1931, to her parents Kermit and Lillian Fowler in rural Ottosen.  She graduated from Ottosen High School and then attended nurses training at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn.  She married Edgar M. Meyer, from rural Ottosen, on Jan. 1, 1955.
