Louise Anina Rochleau, daughter of Marinus and Carrie Anina (Petersen) Paulsen, was born on March 26, 1942, on her family farm in Jack Creek Township, near Ringsted. She graduated from Ringsted High School. After high school, she went on to trade school for secretary training.

Funeral Mass for Merlin Eischeid will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on March 3, 2022, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Church with Monsignor Edward Girres officiating. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery on March 4, at 2 p.m. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Hagg-Turner Post #90 and VFW Post #2541.

A visitation was held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2022,  at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. A private family service followed with Deacon William Black officiating. A Lao Blessing (Phű-Khan) was held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 26, at 1600 Violet Lane, Storm Lake, IA 50588.

March 1, 1924 - February 21, 2022

Gladys Trenary Elbert, age 97, of Algona passed away on Feb. 21, 2022, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Mass of the Christian Burial was held on Feb. 25 at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Joseph in Wesley. Burial took place in Saint Marys Catholic Cemetery in Corwith. 

May 21, 1936 - February 18, 2022

Darlene Bollinger, age 85, of Fenton, passed away on Feb. 18, 2022, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek. Burial will be in the Lotts Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Friday at the church. 

March 13, 1938 - February 2, 2022

Ruth M. Heyka, 83, of Belleville, Kan., died Feb. 2, 2022, at Brookdale of Shawnee in Shawnee, Kan., years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.

November 16, 1933 - February 15, 2022

A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 19, 2022, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2022, with a prayer service beginning at 5:45 p.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona. 

January 9, 1936 - February 16, 2022

L. Michael Scott, age 86, of Burt, passed away on Feb. 16, 2022, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21, at the Burt Presbyterian Church, with services livestreamed on the Lentz Funeral Homes website. Burial took place in the East Lawn Cemetery in Algona. Visitation was held at 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the Church. Masks were required.

October 4, 1948 - February 20, 2022

A funeral service for 73-year-old Matthew Clark of Algona, will be 10:30 a.m. Feb. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The service will be livestreamed on the church’s You Tube and Facebook platforms. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Life Center in Algona. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Algona.

August 24, 1950 - February 17, 2022

Cheryl Ann Ricklefs, Spirit Lake, passed away peacefully in her home under Hospice care on Feb. 17, 2022. Cheryl was born on Aug. 24, 1950, in Webster City. She was the daughter of Paul and LaNetta Clouse. Cheryl moved from Iowa to Colorado where she pursued real estate and property management. After the death of her husband, Regan, she moved back to Webster City and eventually ended up in the Algona area.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 24, 2022, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Feb. 24 at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kossuth County Cancer Support Foundation in Jim’s name. 

January 18, 1947 - February 12, 2022

Richard “Butch” Nickolas Thomsen, passed away on Feb. 12, 2022, at the age of 75.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1947, to Nick and Edna Thomsen while the family was living on a farm near Wesley. Not long after he was born, his sister, Marlene, looked into his crib and said, “He looks like a Butch”. It stuck.

February 3, 1965 - February 16, 2022

Funeral services for David Strohman will be held on March 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Algona. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on March 25, 2022, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the church. 

David LeRoy Strohman passed peacefully into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 16, 2022, at his home in Estherville.
