May 17, 1941 - March 22, 2022

Diane Mardell Hayne of Poway Calif., age 80, passed away March 22, 2022, after several bouts with cancer. Diane is survived by her son, Willard Hayne IV of Littleton Colo., her sister and brother-in-law Collen and Randy Calhoun of Algona, her sister-in-law Gretchen Lindsey of Des Moines  and three grandchildren, Willard V, Melinda and Ty. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Hayne III and two sisters, Marlys and Phyllis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS or St. Jude’s in Kathrine’s name.

A funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Visitation was held one hour prior at the church.

June 16, 1934 - March 22, 2022

Dean Francis Boyken was born June 16, 1934, in rural Woden, the son of Henry and Schwantje (Loeschen) Boyken. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Titonka where he was a life-long member. 

He attended schools in Woden and Titonka, where he graduated in 1952. Dean was drafted into the United States Army in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1958 with rank of E-4 Specialist. 

November 20, 1930 - March 16, 2022

Elizabeth Ann Kollasch, age 91, of Algona, passed away on March 16, 2022, at Kossuth Regional Health Center. The Mass of the Christian Burial was 10:30 a.m. on March 22, at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Michael in Whittemore. Visitation was at the St. Michael Parish Center from 8 - 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, beginning with the rosary. Burial took place at the St. Michael Cemetery in Whittemore. 

October 6, 1942 - March 15, 2022

Daniel “Doc” Nesheim, age 79, of Mallard, passed away due to complications following surgery on March 15, 2022, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on March 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mallard. Burial was at Rush Lake Cemetery, Mallard. Visitation was at 9 a.m. until service time at the church. 

November 29, 1943 - March 15, 2022

 Karen Bachman, age 78, of Mallard passed away on March 15, 2022, at her home. Mass of the Christian Burial was at  10:30 a.m. on Monday at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - Sts. Peter and Paul in West Bend. Burial was in West Bend Cemetery. Visitation was at 4 – 7 p.m., Sunday at Lentz Funeral Home in Mallard, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 6:30 p.m. scripture service. 

February 3, 1965 - February 16, 2022

Funeral services for David Strohman will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11 a.m.  at the Evangelical Free Church in Algona. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at the church. 

David LeRoy Strohman passed peacefully into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 16, 2022, at his home in Estherville.

September 10, 1931 - March 10, 2022

Pauline Frances Drommer Bennett Votteler, 90, went to be with the Lord March 10, 2022, with family by her bedside, in Gillette Wyo. 

 Funeral services for Pauline will be held at 10 a.m., March 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fenton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fenton following the service.

March 17, 1933 - February 20, 2022

Delano Grimm, 88, of Bloomington, Ill., and formerly of Algona, passed away on Feb. 20, 2022, at Bickford Senior Living in Bloomington.

A visitation will be held on March 12, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. A Scripture Service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. with inurnment to be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

September 3, 1928 - March 10, 2022

A funeral service for Marian Marty, 93, of Lu Verne, will be held 11 a.m. March 19, at the United Methodist Church in Lu Verne. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service Saturday. Following the service, committal rites will be conducted at the Lu Verne Cemetery.

Jean “Jeannie” Louise (Keith) Klein was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2022, due to a meningitis/encephalitis infection.

Mass of Christian burial was held on March 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg.
