Rose Ann Mondragon was born Sept. 15, 1936, on a farm west of Algona, daughter of Edward and Lucille (Wilson) Rich. Rose graduated from Algona High School in 1954.
Donna Hurlburt, age 85 of Lone Rock, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Accura Healthcare in Bancroft. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Michael Moe, 62, of Algona, passed away on Saturday Jan. 28, 2023, at his home. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona with military rites conducted by the Seely-Walsh American Legion Post #425 of Whittemore.

Myron Max Hinz, 91, of Emporia, Kan. entered into heaven on Jan. 13, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Myron was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a faithful member of the Lutheran Church from birth.
Donald Reffer, age 63 of Algona, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. A Celebration of Life was Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Water’s Edge Nature Center in Algona. Military rites were conducted by the Whittemore American Legion Seely-Walsh Post #425, Algona American Legion Hagg-Turner Post #90, and the Algona VFW Post #2541.

Dolores A. Beardsley, age 89, of Whitehall, died peacefully at home, surrounded by all of her children and all of her grandchildren on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
Dolores was born on March 24, 1933, in Macon Township, Ill. to Forbus and Myrtle (Fitch) Stiltz. She married Orin W. Beardsley on Aug. 14, 1955, in Livermore. Orin preceded Dolores in death on Oct. 27, 2001.
Riley Alexander Scharper met Jesus on Jan. 13, 2023, at the age of 28. He was born to Kevin and Jill (Prestholt) Scharper on Feb. 5, 1994 in Mason City.
Gladys Doege, age 89 of Ankeny and formerly of Burt, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, surrounded by family at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation was at 1 p.m. and the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Burial took place in the Burt Township Cemetery in Burt following the service.
Memorial services for Douglas Blanz will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Algona with Reverend Dave Grindberg presiding. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services at the church.
