A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Siems Park, located one mile southeast of Whittemore, on 200th Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family.
Mark Steven Byrd was born April 23, 1965, to Rueben Ray and Helen (Thompson) Byrd in Fort Belvoir, Va.  Mark was one of three children and was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge, Va.

Ray F. Cornelius of Las Vegas, formerly of Fenton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at the Wentworth of Las Vegas care facility, at the age of 85. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fenton.

Marie Livingston Bisque (nee Young), 83, passed away in Golden, Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, of natural causes.
Marie grew up on her family’s farm in Algona, Iowa and graduated from Burt High School. She earned her bachelor of science in Applied Art from Iowa State University where she met her husband, Dr. Ramon E. Bisque. After marrying in Algona, Iowa, Ramon and Marie re-located to Colorado in 1959. 

 
Garryl “Louie” Householder, age 79 of Algona, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church Lotts Creek from 1-4 p.m.

CORWITH — Paul Alan Rasmussen, 60, of Corwith, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born Nov. 16, 1956, in Britt, to Forrest (“Pat”) and Blanche (Nedved) Rasmussen of Wesley, and grew up on the family dairy farm.

MISSION, TEXAS — James Harvey Preston, 85, of Mission, Texas, passed away Feb. 1, 2017, at Pax Villa Hospice, McAllen, Texas, following hospitalization since Dec. 24, 2016.
 Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Mission, with the Rev. Bill Duke officiating.  Summertime memorial and burial services in Swea City are pending.

LONE ROCK — Willie Kruse, age 93 of Lone Rock, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Bancroft. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 10:30 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek with the Rev. David Bergquist officiating. 
Burial will take place at Lotts Creek Lutheran Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Lone Rock American Legion Kerr-Hammerstrom Post No. 557.

Visitation is slated for Friday, Feb. 10, from noon to 2 p.m. Internment will be at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

A Funeral Service for Wayne Carlson, age 70 of Windom, Minn., will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with Rev. Sarah Larsen Tade officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 206 will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.

The Rev. Eugene C. Kollasch, S.J., was called to eternal life on Jan. 14, 2017. 
Eugene died at the Jesuit Retirement Home in St. Camillus, in Wausatosa, Wis.  
He was 94 years old, a Jesuit for 68 years, and a priest for 57 years.
Eugene C Kollasch was born on Nov. 28, 1922, in Whittemore, the son of Charles R. and Anna (Laubenthal) Kollasch. Gene attended grade school and high school at Presentation Academy in Whittemore.

Edward John Fraser was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Algona, son of Ronald W. and Margaret M. (Wildin) Fraser. He grew up on a farm near Cylinder.
