Regina Hagg, age 94 of Algona, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at the Algona Manor Care Center. Funeral services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona, with the Rev. Tom Schlund officiating. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery, Algona. Visitation is 4-6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, at the Lentz Funeral Home, Algona.
Regina Malvina Wolter, the daughter of Ernest and Rosine (Tietz) Wolter, was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Whittemore. She attended country school near Lotts Creek. Growing up, Regina attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lotts Creek. Regina worked for the Algona Produce Company candling eggs for several years until she got married and started her family. On June 30, 1957, Regina was united in marriage with Melvin Dale Hagg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Regina enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, singing hymns, spending time with her family and making sure that they attended church.
Left to cherish Regina’s memory are a son, Dan Hagg and his wife Holly of Algona; two daughters, Cindy Offenburger and her husband, Randy of Chariton and Connie Moss and her husband Doug of Waverly; seven grandchildren, Bridget (Ryan) Zittritsch, Lindsay (Jason) Letsche, Alex (Kelsey) Hagg, Tate Offenburger, Emma Offenburger, Maggie (Nate) Jones and Bailey Moss; five great-grandchildren, Brayson, Asher and Graham Zittritsch, Liam and Audrianna Letsche; and two sisters, Elda Groen, Algona, and Elma Wehrspann, Emmetsburg. Her parents, husband Melvin in 2013, and a brother, Harold Wolter, preceded her in death.
