March 23, 1957 — Oct. 7, 2017
Marsha Kay Welton Staffa, of Arlington Heights, IL, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Oct. 7, 2017.
Marsha was born to James Lee Welton and Marilyn Ann Welton in Sioux City, on March 23, 1957. She graduated from Algona High School in 1975 and received a degree in Interior Design from Drake University. Marsha lived in Dallas, Texas for nine years and worked in design and space planning for the Republic of Texas Bank and Trammell Crow Company. Missing the Midwest, she moved to Chicago and worked for Perkins & Will architectural firm. She changed career directions and went back to school, earning a BSN and becoming a registered nurse. While in nursing school, she met her husband and was married for 20 years. From that union, Elizabeth Ann was born.
Marsha’s great joy was in raising Elizabeth. She did so with patience and the love of Jesus. She consistently shared her creativity and passion for loving people with her daughter, large and loving family, and many good friends. Her prayer and heart’s desire was for all to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Marsha is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Staffa of Arlington Heights, Ill., parents James and Marilyn Welton of Algona, sisters Nancy Pierce, of Leawood, Kan., Linda Silva, of Omaha, Neb., Michael Welton, of Tempe, Ariz. As well as three aunts, two uncles, 10 cousins, and eight great nieces and nephews.
Marsha is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lloyd and Mary Johnson and Wayne and Dorothy Welton, all of Estherville, and uncle Lloyd Bach, of Sioux City.
A celebration of life/memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Algona Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. A lunch reception will follow. Arrangements by Lentz Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Marsha’s daughter, Elizabeth, at 312 S. Walnut, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
