Kevin E. Myers
Kevin E. Myers was the fourth child born to Wayne and Rozina Myers. He was born Aug. 4, 1962. Kevin perished in Uvalde, Texas, on Jan. 9, 2019, after a long, courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
Kevin was raised in Algona. He attended Algona schools. He was an avid runner in high school and a member of the cross country and track teams. Kevin served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. After the military, he held different jobs in removing asbestos and in construction. Later, after moving to Uvalde, Texas, he found his passion as a semi driver. He taught student semi drivers. He traveled the U.S. hauling freight for several companies.
Most of all, he loved visiting family. On his routes he would get to stop and visit siblings and nieces. Kevin will be missed for his sense of humor and how he tried to brighten everyone's day. Kevin had many friends througout his short lifetime. He enjoyed hunting and fishing while he lived in Algona.
Left to cherish Kevins memory are Rose Guerrero and her children Michael and Michelle and her grandchildren Nicole and A.J.; his brothers Wayne and his wife Liz of Las Vegas, Nev., Rick and Michele of Emmetsburg, and Dennis and his wife Jessica of Rochester, Minn.; sister Marcia and her husband Steven Gronbach of Algona; and several nieces and nephews.
Waiting to greet Kevin are his parents and grandparents and beloved pets. Kevin continued to give the gift of life as an organ donor and gave his body to science. His family thanks Hospice of Uvalde for his excellent care.
Kevin will have a private memorial at a later date. Olinger-Saenz Mortuary Service, San Antonio, Texas, handled arrangements.
