Iola Bartlett

May 25, 1931 — June 23, 2017

 

Iola Grace (Jacobson) Bartlett was born on May 25, 1931, the daughter of Orrin and Lillian Kate (Fulton) Jacobson. She attended Livermore school first through third-grade and continued school fourth through 12th grade at Bode/Ottoson School. Following her education, she was a homemaker. Iola owned a restaurant in Titonka with her husband. She worked at Lauridsen Foods, Brougham Industries and Shultz Goose Hatchery.

On June 23, 1955 she married Arthur (William) Bartlett in Humboldt. 

Iola enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, puzzles, reading and entertaining. Iola was always ready to entertain and loved cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed having coffee with the friends at Carm’s. Iola loved to laugh and tell jokes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. 

Iola died, Friday, June 23, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Beldenville, Wis. She was 86.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Steven (Robin) Bartlett of Deer Creek, Minn., Sara (Scot Thompson) Bartlett of Beldenville, Wis.; grandchildren, Samantha (Jason) Kunkel of Titonka, Olivia (Zachary) Burtis of Joice, Kassie (fiancé, Matthew Renshaw) Bartlett of Mason City, Sean Thompson of Kingspoint, N.Y., Ryan Thompson of Beldenville, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Azalea Kunkel, Jakob Nedved, Jordan Nedved, Javyn Burtis and Jamilynn Burtis; siblings, Robert Jacobson of Humboldt, Pearl Harvey of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jerry (Georgia) Jacobson of Moss Point, Miss.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; siblings, John Jacobson, Elouise Stoddard, Harold Jacobson, LeRoy Jacobson and a granddaughter, Abigail Bartlett.
