Gladiola 'Goldie' Isebrand
A memorial service for Goldie Isebrand was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29, with Rev. Mark Ellens officiating. Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial was in Ramsey Reformed Cemetery.
Gladiola Jennie TerBeek was born in Bingham Township, Hancock County, Woden, to Dalia Celia (Blandau) TerBeek and Samuel TerBeek on Nov. 20, 1922. She graduated from Buffalo Center High School, taking formal teacher training during high school. Following high school, she taught three years in rural Hancock County.
She married Richard S. Isebrand on Aug. 19, 1945, in Childress, Texas. Goldie and Richard worked and then owned Isebrand Produce for 28 years. The couple were blessed with two children, Mike and Pat.
Following working with her husband, she then worked at Winnebago Industries for 10 years. Goldie enjoyed camping, fishing, wintering in Texas, and playing cribbage and cards with friends.
Goldie died Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Heritage Care Center, Mason City. She was 96.
She is survived by her son Mike (Cathy) Isebrand, of Story City, and her daughter Pat (Ric) Colby of Mason City. Also surviving are grandchildren Christopher (Rachel) Isebrand, Angela (Brian) Johnson, Melinda (Andrew) Zobel, and Chad (Lacie) Colby; seven great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Marcella Fjetland, of Britt; a sister-in-law, Doris Isebrand, of Titonka; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
