Dorothy Laurnetta Pedersen was born Aug. 5, 1937, on a farm near Algona, daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Bierstedt) Gade. She attended Cresco Township No. 4 graduating from Algona High School in 1955. She then worked in the office of McMahan and Cassel Law Firm. Dorothy married Gerald Pedersen on Oct. 27, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona.
Dorothy kept records for three different entities including Bibles Abroad. She was a great business partner with Gerald on the farm, keeping the books and she was able to operate every piece of machinery. Dorothy loved being outside going for walks, mowing her lawn and taking care of her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling with Gerald going on many fishing trips and visiting many places all over the world. There would be many summer days you would find her sitting in a fishing boat.
Dorothy loved her family and time spent with them was the best gift she ever gave. She enjoyed playing games with her family and she attended every ball game and event she could.
