Dale Chase Umbaugh, 76, Algona, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Algona. Memorial services were Wednesday, April 10, at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona with the Rev. Paul Avery officiating.
Dale Francis Chase Umbaugh, the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Brown) Chase, was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Omaha, Neb. On June 4, 1983, Dale married Charles Umbaugh in Algona. Dale worked as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Society. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Dale enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and fishing with her grandson. She was a selfless person who always put others first. Dale was proud of her Chase Indian heritage. She loved to listen to country music on the radio, watch WWE wrestling, follow the Iowa Hawkeyes and spend time with her family and dog Naomi.
Left to cherish Dales’s memory are her children, Jeanne (Mark) Sindergard of Plover, Don (Kathy) Kent of Rolfe and David Rochleau of Algona; three grandchildren, Brad Kent of Rolfe, Heather Sindergard (Brad Cundiff) of Laurens and Nick Kent of Cedar Falls; two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Hoyt Cundiff; her father, Richard Chase of Algona; brother, Rick (Karen) Chase of Algona; and sister, Crystal Chase-Winkler of Missouri Valley. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Charles; and nephew, Brett Chase.
