Dale W. Hannover, 79 of Owatonna, Minn., passed away peacefully Friday, July 31, 2020.
Born Feb. 27, 1941, to Edna (Bruhn) Hannover and Rudy Hannover of Whittemore Iowa, Dale was raised in Whittemore on the family farm. He moved to Algona, Iowa, where his children were born. In the mid-1970s, Dale relocated to northern California. He was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 3. He enjoyed his work as a blade operator for 37 years.
Dale was comical and loved his pets. He enjoyed dancing, collecting toy tractors, garage sales and his vehicles. He was also proud of his German heritage and Lutheran faith.
Dale is survived by his three children, Sheila (Rob) Balsimo of Palm Springs, Calif., Stacey (Lisa) Hannover of Owatonna, and Sonja (Jeff) Knutson of Zimmerman Minn.; seven grandsons: Danial (Nikki), Nick (Brian), Mitchell (Whitney), Phillip (Kara), Jack, Alec and Connor; five great-grandchildren: Will, Olivia, Wyatt, Maddie and Levi; three siblings, Duane (Dianna) Hannover of Fenton, Janice Ramus of Fenton and Inez (Allan) Dacken of Hartley; brother-in-law Don Frideres of Algona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Edna, sister Mary Frideres and brother-in-law Butch Ramus.
A small private funeral service will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Fairville, Iowa, where Dale was confirmed. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke Lutheran Church, Fairville, 306 2nd St, Fenton, IA 50539. Online condolences may be left for the family at HenryOlsonFuneral.com.
