Albin Fred Kayser, age 95, died Sept. 2, 2019, at St Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth, Minn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 715 E. North St., in Algona, Iowa, with Father Sunny Dominic officiating. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church and also one hour before Mass at church on Saturday. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bode, Iowa, with military funeral honors accorded by the Algona Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, Minn. Albin was born May 2, 1924, in Kossuth County, Iowa, to Peter and Mary (Anthony) Kayser. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since high school graduation. Albin joined the U.S. Army in the summer of 1944, served stateside as a military police officer and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was united in marriage to Helen Becker on Jan. 14, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Iowa. Albin farmed for many years and was also involved in sales and loved it. He was employed by Morman Feed Manufacturing Co. of Quincy, Ill., and also sold real estate in the LaCrosse, Wis., area. Albin enjoyed playing golf along with spending time with his family.
Albin is survived by his wife, Helen, of Blue Earth, Minn.; children, Edward Kayser of Lawton, Okla., Mary A. Lynch of Carrollton, Texas, Harold (Mary) Kayser of Easton, Minn., Michael (Pat) Kayser of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Carla (James) Brookman of La Porte, Colo., Thomas (Kim) Kayser of Pompano Beach, Fla., Cynthia (Rafe) Ropek of Berthoud, Colo., Albin (Karen) Kayser of LaCrosse, Wis., John (Peg) Kayser of Yucaipa, Calif., Sharon (Dayo) Kayser of Chicago, Ill., James (Tracy) Kayser of LaCrosse, Wis.; son-in-law, John Vogel of Sante Fe, N.M.; 21 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Albin was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Vogel; daughter-in-law, Nellie Kayser; granddaughter, Kimberly Kayser; brothers, Charles, Herb, Norm and Bob Kayser; and sisters, Verena McGuire and Corrine Chambers.
