ALGONA — Education, tax credits and tax reform, gun rights, and even Russia’s meddling with the country’s election process, were all touched on during Saturday’s legislative forum at the Algona Public Library.
Sen. Dennis Guth, and Representatives Terry Baxter and Tedd Gassman, were in attendance to address the different issues.
Several different education issues - including transportation equity, district cost per pupil, and supplemental state aid - were discussed.
Baxter stated there are good things happening.
“Supplemental state aid, in this particular environment we’re in, we made our number one funding priority of new money,” he said. “We protected it in cuts. We want to be safe and secure in that.”
