History leads AHS student, teacher to Hawaii

When 16-year-old Isabelle Gibbs found out she would be in Hawaii this summer, she thought her social studies teacher Brian Connick had played a joke. Once she found out it was true, the Algona High School 10th grader was ecstatic.

Connick and Gibbs are one of 16 teams participating (130 applied) in the second annual Sacrifice for Freedom: World War II in the Pacific Student and Teacher Institute.
