Decade keeping food pantry going
When he hits 80, Kossuth County Food Pantry Director Erby Shipler may be thinking about retiring, but what he say keeps this 76-year-old going is “stubbornness. When I hit 80, if I’m still feeling as good as I feel now, who knows?”
Shipler was one of the many volunteers remembered during National Volunteer Week April 7-13. “I think volunteers need a pat on the back for what they do,” Shipler said. “Volunteers are a dedicated group. I don’t think there is anybody I talk to that doesn’t say volunteers aren’t great.”
