Big cactus grows, blooms in Wesly
After huntin blue quail at a ranch in New Mexico about 20 years ago, Donald Kirsch brought home several different kinds of cactus as souvenirs. One of them that he thought was unique is called a century plant, the blue Agave Americana Cactus. Tequila is harvested from this plant.
This year, it started to grow a stalk, and it has grown substantially. Kirsch keeps a journal, and he said it has grown 2 to 5 inches a day.
