50th class reunion using park despite renovations
Kennedy Krantz, lifeguard for the Swea City pool, scrapes off the band shell to help with the city’s park renovation project. She believes the city park is a good thing because it provides kids things to do.
SWEA CITY—A renovation may be in process, but the Class of 1970 plans to still use the Swea City park for its reunion on June 27.
“We wanted some place close where we could visit and maintain social distance,” said David Tokheim, who graduated in 1970 from Swea City Community School. “This time of year, the park seemed the very best idea. We needed access to shade, a shelter house in case it rains. It is a pleasant place for people to gather, and we’re going to take advantage of it.”
